Tenterden High Street is in need of some Spring Cleaning. Firstly, I believe there should be a local policy enforcing an overall shop signage strategy which is sympathetic to the town’s heritage status – over and above basic planning requirements. Signage should be considered important features in the high street landscape.
I would ask that the Town Council considers setting up a focus group to agree a suitable brief – I would be happy to participate!
Secondly, it would greatly improve the busy Friday high street scene if the market stalls were to be upgraded to higher quality units with the same design, materials and colours. The market could then be considered a quality feature and may attract more business.
Let’s keep Tenterden the ‘Jewel of the Weald’!
