Congratulations Siggi!
At the TDRA AGM on Wednesday 13th May, Siggi Nepp was elected as Chairman and she has issued the following statement:
Thank you for nominating me as your new chairman, I will endeavour to uphold all the excellent work that Roy Isworth has done for the TDRA over the last three years. Also a big thank you to Priti Paintal, our guest speaker at the AGM, she enthralled us with her musical achievements and her energy in promoting a wide range of cross cultural music to all ages with Equator and her ensemble ShivaNova. Do look up her upcoming events in the region and in London at www.equatorfestival.com. She is a great attribute to our community and we are thankful that we have such upstanding residents in Tenterden.
In the coming year, we aim to strengthen our relations with the younger generation of residents, starting with the launch of our Community Project Award competition on 28th May to encourage active participation of teenagers in local community matters. Our other priorities will include, raising our profile to provide an effective independent voice on behalf of local residents on key local issues and improvements to our website to allow more communication about what we are doing as well as local community related news. Please remember that all your committee members are always interested in any comments you may have or problems you wish to raise. So please contact us at any time with points of concern or interest.
